From the age of 16, when she reached the semifinals of the Open, Every went on to win that event six times, in addition to reaching at least the semifinals ten other times. During her career, Evert won 150 tournament singles titles (including 17 Grand Slam events), 1,300 of 1,444 matches overall and almost $9 million prize money.
