Jimmy Connors didn’t coin the phrase “never say die” but he certainly exemplifies it. At age 39 he provided, at the 1991 U.S. Open, that he still had the abilities and savvy to compete with today’s pro-tennis youngsters. Advancing to the semi-finals, Connors’ play was exciting, and his success told the show.
